The Grand Hyatt, Bangkok

Last December, I spent a weekend at the landmark hotel Grand Hyatt Bangkok, currently ranked as one of the top hotels of the sunny capital, with my mum to celebrate her birthday. And although I already had great expectations from of our last stay there 8 years before, the Grand Hyatt wowed me in a way that only few hotels do.

Our room and the lobby

I was tremendously impressed by the design, setting and ambience of the grandeur lobby. Blending Thai heritage with contemporary sophistication, the palatial building that houses the hotel has all the assets of comfort, luxury and gastronomy. The hotel has been touted as the ‘heart and soul’ of Bangkok, located in the heart of the premium shopping district and adjacent to the famous Erawan Shrine.

We stayed in the Deluxe King Room with views overlooking the stunning city, with a spacious working area, a gorgeous plush bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a medium bathtub. Amenities include the basics, like toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, bath salts and lotion - all by Balmain Paris.

The Pool and Spa at The Hyatt

The Grand Hyatt Erawan also features a splendid outdoor poor that is an absolute delight to swim in. We were lucky with the weather, as the entire three days we were there we were greeted with gorgeous blue skies and scorching sun. The pool is always a huge consideration for my sunny jaunts abroad, and the facilities at The Hyatt ticked every box.

It was lovely to to soak up some rays and take a breather in the tranquil i.Sawan spa, where I was treated to a traditional deep-tissue Thai massage and cucumber facial. Definitely the best remedy to endless months of commuting to work in London’s gloomy weather!

We enjoyed our breakfast on two of our three mornings at The Garden Lounge, located in the Lobby area of the hotel. The service is excellent from the moment you're escorted to your table to when you leave. We enjoyed the full range of The Hyatt’s international buffet, where you can order anything from freshly made fluffy waffles to crispy golden Thai Omelette. On our third morning, we decided to try the exclusive Club lounge’s breakfast, situated on the top floor of the hotel. With stellar views of the city, the Club lounge at the Hyatt is for selected guests and Hyatt club holders, and has a more selected range of breakfast options.

This being my fifth time in Bangkok and my second time staying here, The Grand Hyatt Bangkok is my preferred hotel with it’s unbeatable location and service. I couldn’t recommend it enough!
